Colour t-Hair-apy: A Salon and Oxygen Bar

Colour t-Hair-apy is an awesome Salon and Oxygen Bar located at 612 E Douglas in Wichita’s Old Town, right across the street from Naftzger Park and oh so close to many wonderful restaurants, shops, bars, and other fun establishments. The business owner, Jennifer Steadman, has been my personal hairstylist for years, so when she moved her business from Hutchinson to Wichita soon after we made the same move, I was beyond excited. Of course, along with the new venue came the need for “new everything else,” including a new website, and we have had so much fun creating the perfect online presence.

Fortunately for me I called Rosemary Miller, “The Tech Chick,” when I wanted to create a professional and secure website. She has been a joy to work with through its development, launch, and tweaking. I’m so impressed with what she’s done to bring this website to life!  In addition, the design and functionality of the site is an amazing accomplishment. Rosemary’s experience, creativity, drive to excel, and good humor makes her my number one choice in website design. If you want the best, most conscientious, professional person designing your website without breaking the bank, then contact Rosemary.

Jim Potter is a retired Sergeant from the Reno County Sheriff’s Department who also worked in the education program of the department. Now he is writing books that can be previewed on his website. Jim Potter, Author

After spending over 30 years as a deputy sheriff and school resource officer, Jim Potter is enjoying his new life in retirement by expanding his writing career. His first book, Cop in the Classroom: Lessons I’ve Learned, Tales I’ve Told, has an abundance of police stories from his career in law enforcement and education. He’s also an award-winning writer for his play, Under the Radar: Race at School. However, once he completed his first novel, Taking Back the Bullet, he knew that he needed a promotional venue for not only the new novel, but all of his books, past and future, as well as a blog for sharing his insights about writing and life in general. Terri Thach

Our goal of getting a great website up and running for Soroptimist International of Hutchinson went unfulfilled from year to year. As a non-profit organization, we had difficulty in finding someone we could afford to update and manage our website. Then along came Rosemary! We now have a great site, plus a Facebook page, telling people about our activities and fund-raising events. We strongly feel this has helped increase awareness about the work done by Soroptimist International of Hutchinson in our community. We also feel attendance at our events has increased because of this. She is full of perfect ideas to get our message across. The other added bonus is that she doesn’t mind helping us with our many questions regarding technology!

Terri Thach is Technical Service Manager at Tyson Foods in Hutchinson, Kansas and is very involved in the projects and mission of Soroptimist International of Hutchinson, serving as past president of the club and committee chairperson for the annual LUNAFEST film festival.

Huddle Up, Hutch!

Steve Miller’s interest in Hutchinson High School football began when he joined the football staff in August of 1976, and the Salthawks have held a special place in his heart ever since. During his years as head coach of the Hutch High football team, he began to keep detailed records for each season. Eventually he decided to publish a book that would chronicle the history of Hutchinson High School football. Over a period of seven years, he made almost-daily treks to the Hutchinson Public Library and the Hutchinson High School Library, reviewing microfilm and print articles about Hutchinson football. Finally, the book Huddle Up, Hutch! was published and fulfilled his dream to showcase and properly preserve Hutchinson’s football history. Of course, the next goal was to sell books, and this website is the promotional venue for doing just that.
